Hope

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found (and kept)?

I was a young woman living in Vancouver, British Columbia and had just moved to an old Victorian home with my then boyfriend.

As with all moves there are boxes destined to simply be moved from one garage or basement to another, never be opened. I was placing such boxes in our new home’s basement, when I spotted a single lonely box sitting on its side. The previous tenants had cleaned the entire house out except for this one box, carelessly tossed aside.

My curiosity, as always, got the best of me. The box was heavy and filled with books. Upon closer inspection I discovered these were diaries.

I spent the rest of that day reading through those diaries. A heart wrenching story of unrequited love and life threatening miscarriages of a young girl from the turn of the century.

My heart went out to this girl, who was no longer among the living. She spoke to me. It was as though her pain and suffering had finally been released as I read through those faded pages.

Along with the diaries there was a deck of Tarot cards wrapped in a silk kerchief. The young woman had possibly found solace and signs of hope in these cards.

I still have that deck of cards over 40 years later and it has moved with me from Vancouver to Toronto, onto Tuscany, Milano and Varese, Italy where I now reside. Don’t ask me why.

  1. You write so well conveying lovely thoughts. Yes, words do have great power.
In my earlier years I did not know about occult power… I had had my palm read and had kept a book on witchcraft I never read or believed in that my ex-boyfriend gave me…. It’s dangerous and has words from the dark realm in them that open doors to our being hurt…. They are not from God and I pray you will realize that tarot cards are in that realm…. Even though they may just sit in your house and you don’t use them for divination, I urge you to get rid of them. The Bible records the disciples burning that which was of the occult.
I paid a heavy price for having my palm read and yes, even for having a book on witchcraft in my home. Misfortune and more come from the dark realm that the devil rules, as you read about in that young woman’s diary.
Most of us are so ignorant of what goes on in the spirit realm and the kind of spirits we ignorantly connect with.
I pray you will ask God about this. Even if you don’t know Him and are an atheist like I was, He is the light within you, loves you and cares about everything about you. Talk to Him…. Ask Him if what I have written is true: He will answer you. May you know that the knowledge of the truth is what sets us free, and Jesus said: “I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life.” He is the living spirit…. the light within you and within all men but we don’t realize this until we seek to know the truth.
I could feel a wonderful tenderness in the words you wrote.
    God bless you.
One who has come into the light and loves Jesus,
