Growing up in an immigrant Italian family in Montreal was a turbulent experience and a formula for disaster. I was the eldest of three sisters. By the age of 14, I had done just about every illegal drug available. Before I reached my 17th Birthday I had run away from my family home and was headed across Canada to the West Coast.
As a Photographer I had the opportunity to meet a variety of people from different cultures. I was let into their homes for births, weddings and other important moments which I would immortalize with my cameras. At times I have felt. out of place.
I live in Lombardia, in the north of Italy where the Pandemic first made itself known to the Western World. It was a dark and trying time. I recorded an audio diary every day. I have started transcribing these.
